Monster Mutts
top dog is Hannah Koltuv, a Certified Canine Behavior
Therapist, graduate of the Animal Behavior Center of NY
and member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. After
10 Years working as a TV and film producer, in late 2001 Hannah decided
to start a business caring for her true love
dogs.
A former manager of Animal Haven Shelter, volunteer for
Center for Animal Care and Control and the ASPCA, she
also worked here in Brooklyn as a dog trainer. She lives
just blocks from Monster Mutt with her boyfriend Robert,
and the original monster mutt", Winnie, and their newer "monster mutt", Grimm. |
| Since February, 2002, Jenny Bowman, Monster
Mutt Manager, has been part of our pack for the longest.
After moving back to Brooklyn Heights from San Francisco,
where she keeps up a long distance relationship with her
dog Bowie, she got her fix of animal love volunteering
at Bide-a-Wee shelter, while keeping company with her three rescued kitties, Rudy, Rerun and Big Kitty. After observing all
of the training sessions we run here, Jenny, who has owned
and managed a number of restaurants, is more than qualified
to say that dogs make the best clients. |

Robert
Ortiz, Director of Retail Operations, with 25+ years of retail experience, made him the perfect person to run our doggie boutique. Having spent very
little time in life without a pooch of his own, he has no problem
relating to the Mutts. Whether he is bathing our furry buddies,
working in the kennel or helping to fit Fido in that
special sweater, he is up for it. You'll most likely find
him climbing a ladder or dangling from who knows what,
keeping the place safe, cheerful and clean for our four-legged
friends. Robert lives with his girlfriend Hannah and their
two monstrous mutts, Winnie and Grimm. |
Brae Raphael is Monster Mutt's second in command Kennel Supervisor, and foster mommy assistant. When asked why she doesn’t own a pup for herself, the response is simple, “Monster Mutt allows me to own many mutts all at once, and I can offer my home to a pup in extra need of TLC.” Not owning a mutt of her own, allows Monster Mutt foster pups a safe place to rest, and get that extra TLC when needed. Brae can also be seen around the kennel, holding a camera, and waiting to take that perfect shot of your mutt enjoying the day playing around with friends. Having a BFA degree in photography from Shepherd College is expected from this “camera ready” Monster Mutt member.

Diana
Johanson, Kennel Supervisor, is a Brooklyn native and a most energetic and contientious memeber of the Mutt pack. She is as familar with a toolbox as she is with all our furry friends. When she's not tiring out the pups with her inexhaustible energy she's home in with her family and her own multi-species pack including her Rottie (Elliot), Dachshund (Chrissy) and her three rescued kitties (Logan, Lorelei & Sylvester).

| Hannah "Skippy"
Sheflyand, Customer Service Representative & Kennel Assistant, a crucial member of the MM team. She's as sweet and helpful with our two-footed clients as she is with all our four-footed ones. When she is not keeping Monster Mutt running smoothly, making sure the MM dogs and clients are happy & safe or being the helpful positive influence she always is, she is working as a vet tech at Hope Vet. Someday she will be the vet caring for all of our animals.
An animal lover for as long as she can remember; she lives in Brooklyn with her co-worker Brae and her 9yr old rescue Beagle, Maggie. |
